Zero tolerance and respect

Our Practice is committed to providing a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors.

Sexual harassment, abuse, threatening behaviour, discriminatory comments, intimidation or unwanted physical contact towards any member of staff will not be tolerated.

Individuals engaging in such behaviour may be:

• Asked to leave the premises;
• Reported to the police;
• Subject to restrictions on access to services;
• Considered for removal from the Practice list where lawful and appropriate.

We thank all patients and visitors for treating our staff with dignity and respect.

WORK RELATED VIOLENCE

Definition:

‘Any incident in which a person working in the health care sector is verbally abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their employment by a patient or member of the public, involving explicit or implicit challenge to their safety, well-being or health.  This includes telephone, email or online abuse.’

We expect patients, visitors and members of the public to treat the Doctors and their staff as they would expect to be treated by them – with politeness and respect. We will not tolerate incidents of Work Related Violence instigated towards our clinicians or staff members.

Individuals engaging in such behaviour may be:

• Advised that their behaviour was unacceptable and asked to stop;
• Reported to the police;
• Subject to restrictions on access to services;
• Considered for removal from the Practice list where lawful and appropriate.
